Went this morning and had a great time. Weather was nice and cool and cloudy for most of the morning. They closed off my favorite compartments due to cattle but oh well. I was surprised that there were not more people than there were. I guess maybe about 70. We found about three covies in in an hour and a half but the cover was too thick to get a shot off. The two below were from singles that broke off of a covey in more open brush.

Beats the snot out of staying at home. Your dog looks happy.

My son and I were there on Sunday morning, 20 min into the hunt my setter took a cactus or something in the eye and our hunt ended before it really got started. She is at the vet as we speak and I am praying for some good news. There are lots of birds but the nasty cover makes it a challenge to say the least.

This was a few minutes before the eye incident.

A trip to the ophthalmologist and he removed the cactus spine from her eye. Eye drop regimen and the cone of shame for three weeks until the suture dissolves, she is not a happy camper.
