I'm about to get my CHL and needed to know everyone's thoughts on what is the best carry pistol? Preferably 380 or 9mm. Thanks

One that feels good in your hand and that your confident in. You will get suggestions for just about, every make before long but its preference mostly. Depending on the day I may carry a 9mm xdm, .40 xd subcompact, or a full size sig 1911.

G36, or the xd-s.

Find out which feels best in the hand and go with it.

Just go to a gun show and handle a bunch then find a good comfortable holster

I carry a Glock 19 or a Ruger LC380 depending on wardrobe (jeans or shorts).

Full size or commander 1911. Still the most comfortable that I've found.

Never was a Glock guy until I actually held one in my hand. Glock 19 is my favorite. Prefer it over my sigs to be honest.

One feature about the Glock that is overlooked for carry use is that if it gets some holster wear or gets banged up a little, it's not going to look much worse than it did, fresh out of the box.

To me that's a feature, not a bug.

Suggest checking out a few comparisons on youtube and perhaps go to a range that will rent them to try. No doubt the Glock is among the most reliable, but the grip angle is not comfortable for me. I like the Shield but sure the others are great as well.
