a while back I bought some steel cased Wolf and it will not run in my AR-10.
I should be able to pull the bullet and swap the powder over to a brass case and reseat the bullet and be good to go right?

In a nutshell, no.

There are other variables to consider.

Case Volume being one of them.

There's no point. Trade them.

Pass the gravy.

A friend's DPMS was having issues with the steel cased ammo. Symptoms were 1 o'clock ejection and then failure to extract with the extractor pulling a chunk from the rim. Severely overgassed. He installed an adjustable gas block and properly adjusted, they ran fine.

That's a lot of work to swap components, even if case volume was the same.

I've had some steel case get sticky because they had something like varnish that got gummy. One of those low cost buys that cost me plenty. D'oh!

what's your ar worth to you ?
is it worth enough to not run crap
ammo through ? maybe score up the
chamber, or risk a squib load ?
throw that junk away, or give it
away and buy or load some quality
ammo worthy of the firearm.
can't see putting a $5.00 box of
crap ammo through a $1000.00 gun

My personal opinion, and it may be worth every bit you are paying for it.
