My father has an older, quality folding knife where the "blade retention" metal broke. The blade swings loose on its pivot pin. If the knife makers can understand my description is this something that can be fixed?

BTW, the knife is a "stockman" design and a spring assisted opener where main blade opens when you push down on a secondary blade...

I believe it is German and old so probably not.
