We hunt Wood County. My brother shot a nice 10 point the day after Thanksgiving.
When he gutted it, we noticed the buck's stomach was huge. Don't understand why he was even
eating under my brother's feeder. Anyway, we hauled the gut pile off for the buzzards
and coyotes to feast on and when we got to the final destination,
we decided to slice it open and see what was in the belly of the beast.
It was LOADED with acorns. My brother got lucky that the buck was even remotely interested in corn.

In Northeast texas it's been tough so far. I'm hoping that all this rain rots out the acorns.

In in Smith County and I'm struggling to find tracks. Week before the season I had a dozen deer in my food plot with one real nice buck and another legal 8 pointer. Now I'm lucky if a couple of does show up once a week.

I hunt in Cass county, had a legal big bodied buck with a doe about 90 yards out when I come around a corner on a trail to a field. Darn shooting sticks cost me that one. This was thanksgiving at 7:15 am. Had the same buck on camera at my feeder at 7am the next morning but was hunting the field where I saw him the day before. bang

Didn't get to hunt evening's other than Saturday in the rain and saw nothing but rabbits
