2 days old and the cv axel sheared completely in two pieces in about 12" of mud. Awesome. Called the dealer and he said "well, those axels are a little tricky when it comes to warranty." Like I said, two days old brand spanking new.

Isn't drive line failure exactly what a warranty should cover?

Isn't drive line failure exactly what a warranty should cover? He said cv axels are meant to be broken therefore are excluded from the Polaris warranty. Bunch of bs if you ask me. We're calling other dealerships to try and get something done. I could understand if it was 6 months old and we had beat the hell out of it, but not 24hrs old on its first ride.

Go aftermarket on the axles. The stock Polaris axles aren't that great and don't hold up well over time. I've been through 2 and know of several people who have been through several also. Since going aftermarket I haven't had anymore issues and I've put those things through hell.

Pretty much what I was told when I tried to have the axle bearings replaced after 4 months in my Honda. Was told "these things live and die in the dirt, and dirt is abuse, and abuse isn't covered under warranty." But these aren't street legal, so what gives? Hope you didn't buy an extended warranty.

Clean it up and bring it back to dealer. Sometimes Polaris will want to see pictures of unit and if it's covered in mud that doesn't help. A couple of days and absolutely it should be covered. A few months and it is tougher cause people do abuse them. I worked for Polaris for 8 years.

Curious how much a cv axel costs... I replaced both of them on the front end of a 3/4 ton diesel truck for $65 each.
It's hell eatin em live

Like I said, two days old brand spanking new. I just got a call from a friend who is hunting quail in south Texas. The same thing happened to his Ranger while crossing a cattle guard.

I just had the same thing happen on my 2014 800. I hauled it to the dealership expecting my extended warranty to cover it and they informed me that axles are not covered under warranty. I guess there goes another $500.

That would really pizz me off. Extended warrantys should specifically cover axles. Engines, drive train and components.

That is crap IMO. If a machine can not hold up to normal loads it will experience while hunting it is a sign of poor design.
Abuse is one thing, but breaking under designed application is a whole different ball game.

I'm with poisonivie. The fact that it broke when brand new is bad enough, but for it to not be covered by warranty is unforgivable. Swap it for a Yamaha Grizzly. My Yamaha Big Bear is 16 years old and I have replaced the left rubber handlebar grip and the left headlight (grandkids dunked the Big Bear and killed one headlight). Other than that, nothing has broken or been replaced. Nothing.....

My experience with Polaris hasn't been all that positive in general. Over the years we have had a few and I'm not impressed at all with quality.

Polaris products suck. Period. Seen and experienced part failures, corrosion, and electrical issues on relatively new, unabused Polaris products that any other manufactur would warranty.

OEM cv axles for Polaris are pricey! Just laid down over 300 for one side side on a 15 year old machine. I'm leaning towards honda and the old three wheelers. Those were tough machines.

Polaris is horrible about warranty - they will just ignore you. If you go to dealer their hands are tied too by Polaris - never own one again
You can't fix stupid

Never been to a camping world. I prefer Dick's to be honest.

Yeah, don't listen to me. I'm just an idiot.
Lol. Duckbill that was funny! The dude up top has already taken lots of bone before this deer, both mule and whitetail.
