Well I finally got a buck last Sunday. Its was Sunday morning and I was sitting at the house watching the radar and debating on heading to the lease. Well the radar looked like it was actually gonna stop raining after 4 days straight on rain so I made the trip out to the lease and got to the ranch gate and was still raining pretty hard. So I parked at the gate and started walking I decided to just gamble and got in the truck and started driving down to camp hoping I didn't get stuck. Well I made it to camp without getting stuck so I got dressed and headed to the blind. I have to cross a creek that runs through the property and I got to the creek and it was about 6 ft of water so I had to walk the creek to find a tree that had fallen across the creek. I did so I climbed on the tree and crossed the creek. Got to the blind at 230 or so and got settled in. About 330 I'm playing a baseball game on my phone and I look up and see a buck walking towards my feeder I look in my binos and see its a shooter so I get my rifle get ready and shoot. Boom nailed him goes right down. I'm excited as can be wait 15 minutes then get down and go see him. I then realized I have a chore ahead of me to get him across the flooded creek. So I go back to camp get a rope hoping to make a harness to help drag him because I can't get my truck to him. Well it didn't work so I just dragged him by his antlers to the creek and wonder how I'm gonna get him across. I then took my rope tied to his antlers and threw the other side across the creek and go back to the fallen tree cross back to the other side then go to where the deer is. I got the rope and drug him through the fast flowing creek. Then I had to drag him another couple hundred yards to the truck was the hardest I've ever had to work getting a deer to the truck it was exhausting but I loved it. Sorry for the long read just had to share

Great story! That will be a hunt you never forget. A true trophy. Congrats.
It's not how you fall, It's how you get up.

You're like a raccoon, washing your food off in the creek before you eat it. Great buck, thanks for sharing. Always means a lot more when you have to go above and beyond to seal the deal.
