I may be going to Portland in Christmas/Winter break. Anybody hunt there? I've seen some nice elk there and a lot of early season mule and blacktail bow hunting. Looking for OTC of course. Anything that'll point me in the right direction helps. Thanks!

Awesome country up there. Bear hunted there a few hrs back. Wish I could have stayed till elk season started. Only two days after we left. Tons of elk. Saw a lot of animals.
It's not how you fall, It's how you get up.

Forget the hunting book a sturgeon trip Yep I lived there in Junction City for several years. Just go fishing the hunting is tuff and OTC is crazy hard there in oregon. If your really want to hunt only thing worth trying tis Black Tail and go west to the coast where it gets thick and sit cuts. Better off to go fishing in the Columbia. Go up the gorge and see the sheep awesome country.

Never hunted Oregon but I've hunted blacktail in Western Washington. It's a lot like whitetail in East Texas. Real thick, not many long shots. Look for funnels, feeding areas, ect. I'm not sure what the regulations in Oregon are, but there was no baiting in Washington. Good luck and get you a biggun!
