I have this bear regularly visiting the food plot. Lot's of pics during non-shooting hours and I have seen him twice during legal shooting hours, but he's not something I want to shoot. What was interesting to me was to see deer run off when he first came into the plot...then had a deer come back into the food plot afterwards to about 30 yrds from the bear and just watch the bear.

Very cool photos. Don't know about VA, but here in Texas, I hear the black bears are making a comeback, so wondering if there are many game cam pics of bear in TX? I'm relatively new to THF, so perhaps that's more common than I think.

Thanks for sharing you VA pics. cheers

More and more bears are showing up on Alabama game cams as well.

I am in VA. I hunt Texas ONLY for exotics (Urial type and Mouflon Rams). I probably shoulds have made it clear in my post where the food plot is located.

Would be pretty interesting to watch them. We have very few in Texas.

In my area of VA we never had a bear season.....then in the last 5-10 yrs we went from have a very short season to now having a bear season during bow season, muzzleloading season and gun season....our gun season runs from 3rd Sat in Nov through 1st Sat of Jan. Except for the first week of each of those seasons bear are legal game.

It use to be rare for me to see a bear the first 20 years I had my property....now its rare when a season goes by that I do not see bears. I live about 45min from Washington, DC in Northern, VA. I've also seen (at my taxidermist) several VA bears from Northern VA that were well over 500 pounds and I know of at least one bear over 600 pounds killed not all far from me. Biggest I have seen on my property was about 350 pounds or so...but it was not during bear season or I would have shot that particular bear.

Great pictures. We don't have either, a food plot or a bear.
