Would like to see if anyone can give suggestions on outfitter for Elk in Colorado for 2016.
Will try both public and, if not, private land tags. Rifle hunts.

If you can get your hands on a Bugle magazine they have listing of many outfitters in Colorado and other states. The only outfitter that I am familiar with in Colorado is Lonestar Outfitters. Walt Eisenhaur (sp) hunts in southern Colorado just above Vermajo and Hill Ranches. He is on private. I have not used Walt before but have friends that have. They were pleased.

I forgot to mention, Walt lives in Texas (Lee County) but has been outfitting a good many years.

My son hunted cross mountain ranch last year, it's part of the ranching for wildlife program. It's a private ranch that allows limited public hunting through the draw. The outfitters on the ranch were called cross mountain outfitters. Nice guys, and there are plenty of elk on the ranch.

I have a few different outfitters in Colorado that may work for you. Depends on budget, type of terrain you prefer and class of bull you expect. Private land hunts.

Here's a picture of the bull that my client took this fall on an Eastern Plains Elk hunt. The only client I booked on this hunt as it has very limited openings. Hunt takes place East of Colorado Springs....very easy hunt physically.
