I'm still skeptical of this scoring over 200, but a awesome deer all the same.

I just drove through this area a couple weeks ago and it's the hill country, but it's not.

Alot more flat farm land in this pocket of the hill country. Not as much hunting pressure and they did import some genetics that seem to of survived and integrated into the local herd.

Congrats to the hunter on a awesome buck. cheers

I live here - there is a ton of pressure - some good bucks have been taken here previously and folks have leased all the land around the lake and public hunting area. It is almost all agriculture area

I too live here, where that buck was taken is close to where I live, and Pitchfork it is no where near hill country, sorry. This is farm land, pure and simple. West of I-35 is considered Hill country. Aint trying to start nothing. But been here most all of my life, and now its old, 57. But this one is sure freaky deaky. LOL!!

That's what I said in my post Billy, that it's considered the hill country but it really isn't typical of the vast majority of the hill country being that it is really farmland for most of this area. I wasn't aware tlk lived there as well and he corrected me on there being lots of hunting pressure now. I've been away from the area for quite a few years so I can believe there is alot more pressure today.
