Story revised here to ensure happiness among all hunters.

This cat was killed on 11/28/15 in Dryden Tx. Saturday morning I got up actually mule deer hunting, after sitting till bout 9:30am I decided to get out my varmint call and try my luck. We have hunted this ranch for 18 years and have never even seen a lion much less called one in. The wind was out of the north so I set up on a high bankment of a large draw with the wind in my face. I turned the call on and within 30 minutes had this guy running in. He propped up at 88 yards facing me so only shot I had was in the neck. once I spotted him in my binoculars I couldn't believe what I was seeing. a 22-250 drop this guy and my excitement sky rocketed. My first ever sighting and kill of a beautiful mt. lion
Facts about this impressive animal

48 from tip of nose to base of tail
3 from tip of nose to corner of eye
26 girth
13 neck
29 tail from base to tip with a 6.5 girth at base of tail
5.5 front paws
1.5 front top teeth

He is going to be mounted and displayed in my house for years on years

Too busy trying to sell more hunts in the photo section to tell the story.

Congrats on the lion. If you're gonna be in sales, you better be able to take a little good natured ribbing from potential customers.

well when you post the outfitter name and contact info with a picture and no story I would think that is advertisement. Really doesn't bother me but you should prob read the rules.

Looks like it, but then again, not many reach an old age anymore.

Nice story. Never have seen a mountain lion in the wild, but would love to.

Nice. Good to see a pic of a lion shot in Texas.

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

Good lion and great story. Hunting that country with hounds can be difficult as the dog pear is really bad in some areas. Calling is a great option but one has to be extremely lucky to be in hearing of a lion when he makes a stand.
Adios,
Gary
