I was wanting to get my CHL and purchase another firearm. What would you recommend and what holster would work for comfort and concealment?

Thanks,
CM

Big line of lot's of CCW weapons. Better if we knew a budget and what type you prefer. I have a few different ones but my main EDC is a Ruger LC9s . Another really popular gun is the S&W Shield and the Springfield XDs Mod2 compact in different calibers. XDs cost the most but are fine guns. Holsters are like clothes, different for each depending if you want a OWB or IWB holster and how you dress for the occasion when carrying. There are more different guns than I mentioned but these I did mention are very popular for cost.

I want an IWB and dressing wouldn't be an issue really. My cost range is around $500 but could go higher if something caught my eye. I saw a nice ruger 357 sp101 that I liked but it looks heavy. Any opinions on that? I talked to a law officer about it and he said to be sure and get a revolver because it won't fail you. That's why I was leaning that way.

When you pick the gun, contact East on here, FFR holsters. Great guy to deal with, great customer service and makes awesome holsters. He is my go to holster guy now. He just came out with a new IWB holster clip that looks interesting.

A revolver is good, but any gun has the potential to fail. Get a quality gun that YOU like, and fits you well. Lots of good ones on the market these days. I alternate between a 3inch 1911 45 and a sig 938 9mm, also have shield I bought for my wife, used to carry an XDS 45, all good guns. Would not be scared of the ruger lc9 or glock 43 either. God options in your price range.I have OWB holsters made by FFR for the 1911 and Sig, that conceal very well and are super comfortable. Good luck

Revolvers fail too. Don't be concerned with that. That's one of those old school things that gets talked about by people who don't shoot often. Ask that LEO what he carries every day, and I'd be shocked if it was a revolver I carry a Smith and Wesson shield. It's seen a couple hundred rounds and it hasn't failed yet.
