Have had three calls of big boys chasing today from different parts of the county.
Kenny, I think the main rut here is over from what little I have seen. Saw bucks on does often a week or so back, but most are hard on the trail. I think that is a good thing, nothing worse than a buck locked down on a doe, most of the time she will go to the thickest crap she can find to try and "rub" him off until she is ready.
My best hunting has always been on either side of the primary rut, good during the late "trickle" rut too.
BTW, how'd you fare with the "mud pit"? If you had ask me to come help, I sure would have. Not much I could have done probably since you sounded pretty stuck, but I could at least stood there with you asking 'what the hell where you thinking Kenny, walk in"
