That's the buck of my dreams. If I saw that deer While on stand, I believe I'd stain my skivvies. Congratulations to the hunter, on the buck of a lifetime. Pure east Texas mossback. flehan

It doesn't matter. It's a great buck regardless.

Of course man! I wouldn't be in such shock if it was a raised deer. That is a 100% wild low fence animal. Killed on around 100 acres . Backing up to a large tract of woods

A great deer. The fact that it's a prime specimen on low fence just makes it that much better.

There must be something in the water (I mean that literally), because watching the 903 Outdoor page on FB, Rusk and Harrison Counties have had some tremendous bucks killed already this season. I saw another buck with a double drop in E. Texas. I hope it stays this way forever.

***EDIT***

BTW, this is the biggest, and prettiest. Nice buck, tell the guy that killed it congrats!

IMO, this has been the best year I have ever seen for trophy deer killed in East Texas. I have seen multiple 160's come out, and have had friends shoot 140's, and 150s. I am definitely not an AR hater, because I can see the positive results its having in my hometown of Joaquin (sabine national forest) where it used to be "if its brown its down". I think one reason for such a positive jump this year however, was the quality of rainfall we had this offseason. Antler growth was maxed out!

I also believe there has always been MONSTER's in East Texas, they are just extremely hard to kill with everything being so thick, and most of the areas very heavily pressured.

There is no harder whitetail hunting in the world than for mature bucks in east TX. JMHO.

This has, indeed, been a banner year for big east TX deer.

I'll tell ya first hand. Born and raised in mount Vernon. Hunted Franklin county my whole life. It was always ok deer if that. An occasional really good one. The last two years I've seen some absolute Giants. Enough so that my deer lease In west Texas doesn't see me much. Very excited about the potential that's already there and what's yet to come.

I live in Mt Pleasant, hunted Franklin the 1st year of AR's, figured I'd killed my last buck in E Texas after that season. I've seen some absolute monsters over there recently. But I'll keep my place in Harrison for now.

My parents have 100 acres right outside mv. I have 68 in purley. I've seen two diff deer on both properties that were absolute Giants. I have some high hopes for sure. Just gotta get rid of them dang pigs.
