My first X-sight died in two uses, ATN is replacing it. The second one seems to work well without the long list of problems the first one had, but every time I turn it on it will not record and I have to go in the menu and turn on the camera, then back out. For hunting use this is stupid. I called ATN and they said the default setting was camera on all the time. This is brand new out of the box with the new firmware update. If any body knows how to fix this please help. ATN had no suggestion except reset default settings and reconfigure and re-zero, but this is brand new and did this the first time I turned it on after firmware update.

I'd suggest you do what ATN suggests and, if it doesn't work, insist that they replace your unit or refund your money. There's no reason for you to have to deal with this type of problem any longer.

Write down your x-y settings and do a factory reset. This will NOT erase the firmware version. Then just a LIGHT TAP on the record button. Mashing the button down seems to go past the activation point on mine.

Thanks for the replies. Went to Red's 100-yard indoor range in this messy weather and the 2nd scope lasted 5-rounds. I am done with X-sight and the third one still in the box is going back for a refund. Guess I'll give the replacements to my daughter for a .22 or something since I can't get my money back on those two and they will not hold up on anything large enough to hunt hogs with. My old Pulsar has always been flawless and never had to ever re-sight it in, it just always works, and no stupid updates every time the wind changes direction. I actually paid a lot of money to be ATN's guinea pig. I can still record on my Pulsar with a micro DVR with a short cord. Not as convenient as a onboard SD card but that doesn't work and the Pulsar does.

I'm sorry to hear about your scope problems.
Are they 3x or 5x scopes ?
I had some issues with my original 3x, returned it and got a 5x. I've been happy with it.
Two of my friends bought newer x sights(3x+5x) and haven't had any issues and they put a lot of rounds down range testing them.
Mostly .308 and .300 BO.
I've never had mine mounted on anything bigger than a .260 and that rifle has hardly any recoil.
