http://www.africanhunteronline.comSo with all of the terrorism going on in France right now they have time to pass more liberal BS. The French environmental minister would rather listen to Bridget Bardot instead of the scientists who know something about African wildlife.

Yep, their brains died years ago.
If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

I just don't understand why someone wants to kill a lion for a trophy. And I don't understand why any American would give a rip what the French think. We have enough anti gun/anti hunting battles in this country to worry about.

It really doesn't matter what the French do.....as long as an animal has a monetary "value" it will justify an "investment" to maintain it....why are their so many exotics in Texas with population more healthy than their native lands....because people pay money to hunt them....ban them and eliminate the "value" to the rancher, he will no longer invest/sustain the population and spend his time and money on something else....simple economics....something treehugging libturds can't seem to grasp..... Hunting lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, etc. fund conservation and management efforts for maintaining those populations....JMHO....

I understand the way the conservation efforts are funded but what I don't understand is the desire to shoot rhe big cats. I do understand that some need to be killed and that someone has to do it. I just don't see them as an animal to pursue as prey or a trophy. For those who do, and can afford to, I suggest having somewhere other than France to take and display your trophy.

Different strokes for different folks.....some people like race cars and driving fast....not for me.....some people like to spend hours in their garden.....not for me......some people enjoy shooting holes in paper....not for me.....some people can spend hours tying flies....not for me....some people like to hunt trophy deer....not for me.....some people like to hunt dangerous game....again, not for me...... I try not to judge others passions.....if its legal let them do it.....

I didn't judge. If you had read my whole posts instead of looking for something to challenge you would see that I understand some enjoy that pursuit. But just so folks like you understand the vast majority of VOTERS don't agree with it. And as long as money is involved, politics will be involved. And unlike here in this great land where conservation is clearly paid for from the taxes paid by outdoors persons in other countries things aren't as clear or easy. So we must stay vigilant not to let what happens there have any negative influence here.

I agree with your statements....my only point is way too often political correctness trumps what is legal or illegal.....Two examples: Legal law abiding gun ownership should be banned and slandered at every opportunity, yet illegal immigrants should be welcomed and celebrated.....I HATE PC!....IMHO the PC police are the lowest form of scum on the face of the earth cuz they demand to tell you what you can or cannot do based on their thought or beliefs, yet claim some ignorant form of discrimination if you simply voice any objection to their thought, opinions, or beliefs..... This is why I hate liberalism......Liberals demand you not only accept their thought/opinion/belief/behavior, but you must embrace it and celebrate it, otherwise you are labeled some kind of "ist" or "phobic" (racist, sexist, homophobic, islamaphobic, etc.).....and then they have the audacity to expect that someone else should have to pay for whatever they want......I could give a rats-red-azz what the "vast majority of voters agree with".....they are how we ended up with the Obama administration twice.... That's all I was trying to say.....

French hunters don't hunt lions very well anyway. They surrender at the first sign of aggression.

You want to live with something that would eat you? How much research on this have you done. Like to see your findings of are you listening to the liberal media?

Some don't understand why you want to hunt whitetail, or coyotes those pretty little dogs. Smh ignorance at its best! You can shake your head like a little girl on facebook all you want. Want to compare the numbers of how many people hunt whitetails vs. lions? It's ignorant to think that decisions are made by what is best, or by what you or I believe about what is best, for the survival of the species. It's ignorant to believe that more and more of elected officials around the world are conservative, intelligent policy makers who base decisions, and votes, off of real science and logic. It's ignorant to believe that the average voter looks at the diminishing numbers of some species, including lions, and thinks killing them is a positive thing. France did what is politically correct. Or in other words, what is ignorant. The most important point in all of this is to educate the public and elect officials who let educated biologists make decisions that are best for a species survival.

Why do we shoot yotes? The big cats are just big yotes on thier Ag economy. Difference is breeding habitats. Only way to keep locals from causing extinction is to provide value that offsets thier losses.

Typed out a whole post about lion hunting, then realized there's no point. This debate is exactly like HF/LF. If you don't hunt exactly like some of these guys on here, and only the animals they like to hunt, you're doing it wrong/unethically. All comes down to arrogance and not just a little bit of envy.

What would happen if all sportsmen quit hunting Africa? All the revenue generated by hunters, taken away in an instant?

I guess the French should be more concerned about importing terrorists than legally harvested lions....smh.....
