talked with the farmer that bought our place. due to the hail that went through this summer, there are areas (mainly south of Kalvesta) that the storm was hard on the chick hatch, he saw lots of dead chicks after the hail. however a few miles south when he was moving wheat drills, he counted 30+ birds in a mile. he thinks the population is on the rebound, depending on the rain or lack of next year. good luck to all.
