Anyone have experience mounting a scope on a British Enfield MK 3 (or comparable) rifle? What are the pros and cons? Should I just sell this rifle and start with something more current?

It's so much easier to scope a modern rifle and you lose the historical experience of the Enfield by scoping it. I'd pass on the idea myself. It can certainly be done, but you end up with a beast that's neither fish or fowl.

S & K makes an excellent no drill scope mount for the Lee Enfield variants. Brownell sell them or go directly to the S&K Scope Mount website. Also, welcome to the board.

Enfield irons are pretty good. I'd just leave it alone.

As someone older, whose aren't what they used to be, that would not be a viable option.

Then sell it and buy a Savage Axis that comes with a scope.

Syncerus - that was my concern.
