Just curious what everyone is seeing. I started see bucks hot on does back around the 17th in comanche county and even last week a bruiser was dropped on this lease. Rut seems to still be on. Any thoughts?
First time hunting in this area when does rut start to fall off? And when does late rut kick in?

Everyone always gets a little "excited" and gets confused watching young Deer chasing and every year you hear the Ruts early the Ruts early...may be close with you guys amigo, were always around the 6th of Dec in Rock Springs and a lot later in Laredo..

I've started to see more dead deer on the road in May-Rising Star to north of Junction so it's should be close around you

Pay attention next year and see when the fawns start showing up and back out the gestation period, approx. 200 days.

Like sniper said our rut is a ways off yet.

Been a crazy year, and late fawn drops...Navasot and I were discussing how early we seen Squirrels harvesting this year..I do think we are on for a hard Winter

On 11/7 I was in my stand and actually caught a young buck mounting a doe and she let him. I thought it was a bit early but always thought that was a young buck thing to get a bit sideways early. But then again like I said I'm used to hunting east texas

I agree 100% Sniper on it being a hard winter. Everything points to what my ol man called a "hum-dinger" of a winter.
