We have only 96 acres in South Texas. This morning we counted 12 doe and 4 yearlings. No bucks are coming to the corn during the day. According to pictures, we have about 4 bucks, not including the yearlings. How many doe should we shoot, and should we wait to do it until January?
If you want some friendly advice, get a haircut and take a bath. You wouldn't get hassled so much.

How many live on your land?

So you have a deer to 4 to 4.5 acres in an area that normally supports a deer for every 25 to 30 acres? You do not draw in any deer from the neighboring pieces of property?

Oh yeah, I see what you mean. We haven't witnessed the deer jumping over to the neighboring properties, but I'm sure they do. I have no idea how many actually live on our place.

Why not contact a TPWD game warden or biologist & ask their opinion?

If it is all low fence around you. They are traveling from property to property. So the real question is how many deer are in the area? If it is a dense population in that area then I would say wait until the rut is over or you get your buck then limit out. But maximus flavors has a very solid suggestion. Tpwd biologist or the game warden would be able to give you a more accurate number. They are a great resource that very few people use.
If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

part of it depends on how large the adjoining ranches are and how hard they are hunting? and are they managing their places too? On 96 acres it will be difficult to do much unless those around you are doing the same
You can't fix stupid

I just want to say thank you for using the proper "too". Well I've been teaching English for 15 years, so I better know that one. Lol
