I've been up here scouting and chasing mule deer around since last week. The cold front we had over the weekend helped stir the big guys up. Monday was phenomenal with several stalks but turned out to be small deer. Saw this guy Monday morning but lost him in a 1/4 section of tall weeds. Got on him again that evening but could only get to 874 yards. This morning was very slow until about 8am. Found this guy with a herd of does in a draw. Two coyotes came cruising by in between us and I thought the hunt was over. Two does began chasing the all around and busted up the herd. Big boy took a doe and headed back to the weed patch. I eased up to the corned and found a doe in the weeds maybe 80 yards from me. I soon saw him coming to me head on. Didn't take much decision to level the crops hairs and touch off the 300 WM. Dropped him in his tracks. He is one old bruiser. Just a 3pt on the left but the right is something else. Even has a crown like a red stag. He will look great on the wall. He's at least 8 maybe 9 years old and well over 300 pounds.
