Great story and I admire the way you and your buddy tried to find him the first time, great dedication even though he was still up and moving. Maybe the second chance was the "deer gods" repaying you for your dedication in trying to locate him. Good to hear about rattling the deer, always enjoyable... Kudos.

That is crazy that he came back and he didn't die. I applaud the dedication to find him the first time. That was a massive hole in his neck!
