Dude was a stud with good mass! Now tell the story about finding him. Never seen somebody so lucky
Haaaaa. Ok so the buck came in but not to my feeder. He held up in the brush roughly 150 yds quartering to me. With the brush I had a small window, held on his right shoulder (6.5 Creedmoor 140 grain Chad special ammo) I squeeze the trigger (bang) I hear the smack on him, buck jumps about 6 ft straight up, turns and runs away from my stand. I lose him in the brush but had a general direction of travel. I saw a glimpse of something go over the fence (still on our lease both sides). I go down to look for signs. Zero blood on the ground. His tracks are there from where he kicked up. Lease buds (BigPig included) show to help on the recovery. We go around to the other side of the fence. I began walking the fence line and found him tangled in the barbed wire about 80 yards from the shot. He was expired with zero blood coming from his body. Wasn't until he was detached from the fence did the blood start exiting from his mouth. When he was gutted the internal carnage showed. Small bullet diameter hole on the entrance AND exit, but inside was a volcanic eruption! Entered behind shoulder facing me, and blew out the opposite shoulder. I got lucky to stumble on him so quickly considering there was not a drop of blood to track with.
