Great photo of the gazebo and lake marabou Eddie. How'd those tea cup roses end up doing for you?

You guys should see the build thread, Mr Walker has some talent and never cuts a corner.

Thank you.

The fishing is pretty good, but my wife and I are not up to the challenge when the bigger bass hit. We can pull in one and two pound fish all day long. It's when the big ones hit that we fail miserably. They take off, the pole bends over, we real them in, sometimes they jump, sometimes this goes back and forth for awhile, but it always ends in either snapping the line, or spitting out the hook. Every time we went fishing this year, it happened once to one of us!!!!

The pond record is tied with two different people catching five pound bass. The channel catfish record is 13 pounds, but that was a couple years ago and nobody has fished for cats since then.

The roses where all eaten by a beaver. He outsmarted us every time we went after him. We killed two over the winter, but this guy was almost totally nocturnal, and the few times we did see him, he just disappeared in the shoreline. I thought he must have dug a tunnel, but I've looked and looked for it without any luck. It's either there, or he just plain outsmarted us. Once he finished eating all the roses, and most of the trees around the pond, he left on his own. No more trees cut down, no more trails from the creek to the pond, and no more sightings of him. After talking to a plant guy, we learned that beavers will eat any woody type plants. Now we have marigolds in the planters. They looked great all summer, but now they are kind of dry looking. I guess it's the end of the season for them.

I remember the thread when you built it - what an awesome place.

On the fish may I suggest - ultra light rod and reel but put 20 lb spider wire line on it - they will break the rod before they break the line and it is a blast

You can't fix stupid

Thank you. It's just a matter of time until we figure it out, but better line would sure help!!!
