Went hunting Thursday night and got skunked, not one deer showed up to the feeder.
Got up Friday morning with temps hovering around 46 degrees. Made it to the stand feeling hopeful that I'd have better results. Feeder went off and the waiting game began. 30 minutes go by and then 40 minutes and nothing. No signs of activity anywhere, which was kinda unusual. Usually, when the feeder goes off its like a dinner bell, and the deer come running in.
So, once it got close to an hour after the feeder went off and nothing, I started getting really disheartened thinking I was going to get skunked again. When all of a sudden I see a big boy materialize out of the brush. He had his head down in the tall grass that lined the brush so I didn't see his drop tine at first. I saw his tall G2s and G3s and got him lined up in my scope and squeezed the trigger thinking I was shooting the big 8 I had been eyeing on the game cam. It wasn't till after I shot him and he started running that I saw that drop tine. Needless to say, a great weekend ended with a really great Brown County Deer
