there are a handful who call about these, many opt for binoculars, because they are more comfortable to most. However monoculars have a role in the field.

Zeiss has a great selection of mono's

I use a Vortex monocular. It is just so much lighter and more compact than binoculars.

I use my 8X Swaro range finder.

I've used the Vortex monocular at rifle matches, and it is so inexpensive eveyone should have one!

I use a Vortex 10x that's great. Biggest reason I use it is because my eyes have trouble focusing with binos. confused2

You have posted that before. I recall now talking with you over the phone once and you said you did that frequently.

However mostly you call dope with you SS 5-20X

Use them during calving season. Don't know if this qualifies as "in the field"

Another for the Vortex monocular. I switched 3 years ago and haven't gone back. It's compact and fits around my neck without getting in the way. Only thing better would be a range finder, but I'm almost done with new gear...except maybe an NV scope smile

been using one for many years.
i've had it so long any writing
on it is long gone years ago.
it'll soon have to be replaced
because this year it started to
fog up and it's not as clear as
it once was.
a monocular is the only way to go
as far as i'm concerned. they're
compact enough that you're more likely
to always have it with you instead of
leaving it lay in the truck or in
the blind or at the house.

I use binos with the chest strap. Super comfortable. Never feel like leaving them behind.

Interesting post...

I'm tracking this one b/c I'm looking at switching to monocular. My left eye doesn't focus well...congenital condition. Binos are kind of pointless for me, but the quality of glass has always been better in binoculars.

I did start using an 8X Weaver rangefinder this year though. Hoping to get scope quality monocular gear in a smaller package (than say a scope).
