Being fairly inexperienced with shotguns, I recently purchased a new Mossberg 500 for home defense. Is it safe to shoot 2 1/4" 00 buck in it, or should I use 2 3/4" or even 3"?

They are perfectly safe, but you do want to test fire and make sure they feed OK.

I have shot Agilla mini buckshot 1 3/4", they worked in my 870 but not in my Benelli M4.
