I have a friend that just bought a Remington 700 Long Range. It is the one with the 26" heavy barrel, B&C stock. I talked him into some SWFA glass for it. He mainly bought it to shoot elk, mule deer, and pigs with. But he also wants to start getting his feet wet with LR.
The thing is, he doesn't reload. I don't load for 300 WM, and he is really too far away anyways. So he needs a few options on factory loads to try. Precision loaded ammunition suitable for LR and and also including elk. One load to do it all. For you guys that have experience with this, what are some good ones that have worked for you?

That is one of the options I will present him with, but I need some factory options too. In the end he will make the decision on what he buys, not me. It may be he tries some factory stuff and then decides to give Chad a call, who knows. I'm just trying to give him some good options, separate the wheat from the chaff so to speak.

Thanks, guys!! Well, there are not many good factory ammo options for long range with the 300 WM. I shot a 300 WM with the 190 SMK for many years in competition, and it's one my top calibers that I know really well. A great dual purpose bullet would be the 208 A-max. The A-max bullets are great for long range shooting as well as for hunting. I've taken many animals with a 208, as well as many customers. All have liked the performance of the round. I have a bunch of Winchester brass in stock now, and am out of the Norma/Nosler currently. I am currently running the Hornady 225 BTHP at 2910 fps avg in my TRG 42, and it shoots little groups a long ways off. 300 WM options on my website below. There are many other bullets I can load, depending on what you like. The new 210 LRAB would also be good. Let me know if you have any questions, and I can answer. http://dallasreloads.com/product-category/300-win-mag/

Factory loads?
DoubleTap has the 200gr Nosler Accubond (G1 BC ~.588) that would work but I don't know much about the company.
Hornady is about to have the 200gr ELD-X (G1 BC ~.626) out.

Also check out buyabmammo.com, haven't tried them yet but would try it if I didn't reload.
