We went to cabelas, she handled a few different rifles, then we decided on the Tikka T3 Lite in 308. Caliber was easy as that is what she is used to shooting and ammo will be plentiful. Vortex Viper 3.5-10X50 on top.  Thanks for everyone's input on the previous post. we looked at lots but this fit the bill

I've got a stainless T3 308 that I put in a Black with gray webbing Bell and Carlson stock. If you're not interested in upgrading the stock, you might consider swapping out the hard factory recoil pad for a Limbsaver or Decellerator. Makes a world of difference, since they are so light.
