Went and got some throttle time in a new to me rig today on two lakes I saw probably close to 20 birds. With 5 being the most in one spot. Did not really scout and only saw a few areas that should hold ducks but what I did see will keep me in a tree with my bow next weekend.

Been scouting between work and home and I am starting to see more ducks. Have a small tank off the highway that I keep an eye on, it is now up to about 60 ringnecks. One of the lakes I pass by had a few mallards on it and an unidentifiable hen (too far away to see clearly). A couple of private lakes have had a few more ducks on it. I have been talking to a few friends and family up north (northern oklahoma and southern Illinois) and they are seeing lots of ducks coming south.

I am not seeing many on bodies of water, lakes and ponds. With all the flood water, the birds are in the dense marsh where food is easily accessible. I have been seeing that the peak flights in the loafing areas are after 9am after they feed as well. Get up in the backwaters and you'll find them.
