You could grab one handful of them and that would be more than I had on my whole place this year. Bad year for acorns in my area.

I pay my son a penny for every acorn he picks up and puts in a 5 gallon bucket for me.

From red-oak trees. huge acorns. My place has mostly post-oaks, and acorns are small. Wondering if the deer will like these big ones from red-oaks? will be finding out... Gonna also try on hogs too (recently visiting my place near denton).

Those photo's look like my yard for the past few years but this year there are almost none. At the lease in central Texas we have a few but not as many as last year.

If they are used to post oak acorns they might turn their nose up to the red oak acorns. Post oaks are much sweeter.

I was about to get knocked out every time I sat in my tree last year had several deer spook from acorns hitting my seat. This year it has been a fantastic year for rain the best in a long time and I have almost zero acorns.

I did that one year when I was young and went around in my neighborhood and picked up 100's and 100's of lbs and we took em out to the lease and there wasn't much of a crop out there that year and we always saw at least 3 times the deer at our feeders than anyone else's. Pigs tore em up too

Heck yeah ! We go to the big shopping malls and rake up all the live oak accors off the parking lots. Pretty much stick and debris free. You can get several corn sacks full.
