Will deer steer clear of really thick places when they are in the rut? I hunt a very thick place that consists of mostly cedar and live oaks. Last year we saw little to no rut activity and this year a little more but still nothing to get really excited about. I know they are rutting because we saw 2 bucks chasing down the road earlier today. Anyone have an answer to this because I'm stumped

They are constantly on the move. Use scents away from a feeder and something that might jog through and get down wind might turn the direction towards you. I noticed 5 dead deer on the road this morning so I'm hoping I get some movement myself.
Hunting in magnolia would be better in a gated community.

The bucks will go where the does are. If the are really rutting, find the does!
