My 13 year old has taken the biggest buck of her hunting career! We set up looking over a large pecan bottom with shots stretching out to 350 yards, knowing that I set her up in the prone position for the most stable shooting position. We had seen several deer up to the point where she puled the trigger on this guy. He was the last deer to walk out after watching 20 plus deer feed and bed within 200 yards of us. As the deer began to feed and leave the area that is when this guy came running out 200 yards to our right when I ranged him and got 176 yards and moving away, so I spun my daughter around and whistled to stop him and told her to take the shot when she had a good aim.
At a distance of 176 plus yards she made what I consider a great shot! Watched it all through the range finder and knew she had done good. She was super excited and so was I
