- 3.5" shells - specialty aftermarket chokes
Interesting how these paradigms have developed to a level where people sometimes become hostile in defending.

I dont have either of those, guess I didnt get the memo I don't either. This thread is about how the "must have" stuff has grown. I was chatting with an acquaintance the other day who bought a Berretta A400. He was looking to go out and buy several chokes. That shotgun comes with a nice full set of factory chokes. I recommended he test the factory ones beforehand. He was pleased with the results. If people want to buy 3.5 shells and specialty chokes that's fine. Just avoid following an assumption without testing it yourself.

Yes my factory chokes perform well in my benelli and browning. I do buy extended chokes for a longer parallel section at exit for even better results. Ports also help with muzzle jump and allow u to get back on target faster. Just a preference thing. 3-1/2 shells are just a bit of an advantage, but 3" Hevi Metal will lay them down just as quick with responsible shooting. My dad never bought the extras, but I do. Just a preference thing and what makes the shooter comfortable.

I buy aftermarket chokes for one particular reason..........so if they get stuck I can get on them with channel locks to get them out of the gun. Nothing worse on a gun that a stuck flush mounted choke.

Don't forget $300 camo waders...
I did purchase a semi-auto with 3.5 inch capability, but don't shoot that ammo. I just so happened to find the right shotgun for me and it shoots 3.5. It also came with factory chokes that I've found to be more than sufficient so far.
I just turned it on . I was looking bird dogs in the butt this morning.

Hope our paths cross again this season. Best wishes! I use anti-seez or some super slick 9000 aircraft graphite a buddy of mine gave me. Ditto. Enjoyed our hunt last year. Maybe Elder will take me off double super secret probation before long.

I've never had a stuck choke tube. I always have to tighten mine up cause they get loose.... Like half way through every hunt. Am I missing something?

They also have an agreement with the EPA allowing them to cite boaters with illegal toilets.
