Ok, 4 hours in a blind on Sunday... 400 acre low fence... about 10 / 12 head of cattle on the place....
three times ran cows off yesterday... finally after a long while, light dimming here comes the buck we want... my daughter gets all lined up... then MMMMMOOOOOOOOOOO. comes thundering in and ran him off.
Ok, ive heard bb guns, pellet guns... what do you all use , to run these thick headed cows off and get them to stay away for a while.

Only thing to get them to stay away at least while hunting is going to be food of some sort.

Put up a big feeder pen with panels or barb wire.

I call them to the other side of the lease and spread cake out, throwing a handful here and there in tall grass and brush. That way they take a little while to clean it up. How much cake you use depends on how many head you want to keep interested. A bag last me 3 to 4 hunts, feeding 15 head.

Watch out feeding them from your truck. They learn real quick which truck have feed. I got to my blind Saturday morning and had 50 cows around the blind and feeder. When I walked to my blind they all took off running. But deer still came into the feeder 30 minutes later.

I have a cow bell hanging on my truck. The cows think it is a buffet line.

Put the feeder inside 3 or 4 trees and wrap 4 strands of barb wire around the trees. They cannot mow over trees or drive in a lot of t posts, the tree thing is easier.

Ive never had them come back after I ran them off. ^^ This. are they hanging around your feeder or is there good grass around it. good advise given about using the range cubes. Nothing they like better.

These cows hung around my feeder yesterday. Feeder is on other side of fence but when cows are in same pasture, I keep them away from feeder with some t-posts and cattle panels. BTW, they are my cows and as valuable as they are I don't want anyone shooting them with bb gun or pellet guns. I have also seen deer and cows near the feeder at the same time and the cows don't seem to be bothered by the deer at all

if cows eating your feed is the problem...10 hog panels and 19 t-posts are the only solution in my book. Once they see they can't get in they usually move on
If you're just wanting them out of the area.....range cubes, hay or other feed to draw them away (i've used chaffhaye with great success, but its not cheap)...find a spot on the other side of the property or an area not hunted and scatter it
touch base with the owner to make sure they're ok with anything you're going to put out for feed....you're messing with property and it could very well cost you the lease.

I just buy some sweet feed and cattle cubes and put it out on other side of property before I go hunt make sure spread out real good and they will stay there for a good 4-5 hours.this is good for evening hunts.if you put enough out they will stay there for the following morning hunt to
