Every night I have anywhere from 8 to 20 Raccoon making a buffet out of my feeder. We're not allowed to night hunt, so blasting them is out of the question. Not to mention there is always a dozen or so deer there with them enjoying the buffet to. Anybody have any ideas on how to solve this issue?

Half a dozen dukes dog proof coon traps. Stake them down or strap them to feeder legs. All of them will probably have a coon the following morning. Kill, dispose and reset. You probably won't get rid of all of them cause new ones will keep coming but you can greatly reduce the number and keep them under control

Shoot, shoot, and shoot them more! other than turn your feeder down to the only minimum amount
of corn or whatever your feeding now! deer and other game will always find it!.....

My deal is pigs, cant kill enuff of them!

Those dukes dog proof traps work very well.

Like posted above, Dog Proof traps solve the problem quickly. I would not tie them to the feeder legs since that will keep the deer from visiting the feeder. I would stake them to the ground or tie to a nearby tree if I could.

Kill them! Don't waste your time trying to out smart them. They will win every time. Dukes traps work great.

I had the same problem on my spin cast feeders. I found the eliminator spinner plates work very well. Only see a coon or two every so often now. They moved on to our neighbors place, at least he said his coon population doubled very quickly. I think they sell for around $40-$45 a piece, but I asked for a bulk deal at a local store. Purchased 8 of them for $30/ea. Paid for themselves in a matter of months by saving corn and protein.

Do they climb up your feeder? Carpet tack strips and axel grease work for me.

I have a cage around the chunker, but the holes are to big I'm assuming because they still get their arms in there. I've been looking up the Traps all morning, and I like that idea, but I'm not sure how the deer will react to them or coming into a pen that has coons trapped around it. Yes they climb up the legs of it to get up there. I'm probably going to try it all to tell you the truth. Those suckers have got to go.

Its an easy fix, this does not kill them but they will go somewhere else if they cannot get to the food. Drill a hole a couple of inches from the top of the pvc pipe and string wire thru it attach to top of feeder leg, they cannot climb it because the pipe is unstable. My coons are gone, they don't even show up on camera anymore.

Set your timer lightly for the evening throw so there is no buffet on the ground at night for the coons. They will leave if they cannot get to the motor and the deer are eating what you are throwing.

why can't you night hunt?? If it's a landowners decision, then, yep your screwed. Otherwise, just contact the GW and let them know who you are, where your at and what you will be doing. It's legal to kill those fury critters, day or night!! The deer will only scatter for a short time, they will be back.

The pvc pipe thing seems interesting, never even thought about that. The no night hunting thing though is the land owners rule, so yeah I'm screwed with that lol.

Spike strips, pvc, and grease won't keep them from eating all the corn on the ground. And will do little to keep them off of your feeders. Just kill them all.

Are you leasing from the Wilson-Hodges ranch? We have bad coons too, and they won't let us hunt at night.. I trapped about 60 last year with the Duke's DP traps. I haven't tried much this year.
