I harvested my deer on Monday. The meat was taken and placed into a game bag, then into a trash bag and put on ice until returned home Wednesday morning. I had a family emergency and had to leave town in a hurry so I threw my entire cooler into my chest freezer. My question is do yall think the meat is still good. I will be home tomorrow afternoon and be able to check on it and get it processed. When the cooler was placed in the freezer is had just been repacked with ice. For having to leave quick this was the only thing I could think of. Thanks for any info.

If it stayed cold it should be fine.

Yes it will still be fine as long as it cooled down when you put it in the cooler the first time. I have killed deer that we skinned and quartered then put directly in a freezer. Thawed them out later and processed them. Did it for years.

It's easier to grind if it's partially frozen.

It's extremely hard for venison to go bad. It can get freezer burnt if not packaged properly but that takes a while. Your meat is fine. Take it to processor.
