I might be able to help...all of my public spots are high-fenced with permanent blinds, so you don't need to 'know squat about it'...all you have to do is show up.

After all, you are an 'avid outdoorsmen' who has 'hunted...migratory birds'. I feel as if you should be the one teaching us rookies a lesson.

Tyler, sure south of baffin bay hunting inlets and back bays for redheads and pintails is a breeze, dont need a call and most often then not no decoys are needed where i have gone. Hunting this wooded marshland is a whole different game i imagine. And by migratory birds mainly dove. Im sure hunting deer in ft stockton is exactly the same as san isidro too

Not a story except another person nicely asking for some help and a fellow hunter being an arse about it. I don't know why anyone would would dare ask a question on here just to get these rude answers. Everyone makes it sound like these people are asking for specific spots and they are not. Heck if they asked about about here west where I hunt I would give them the area or creek names that would be best.

I would check out Nanny Stringfellow WMA. It is located in Brazoria, and it is an interesting park. As far as I know, it is the first and only WMA that allowed the use of an air rifle for rabbit hunting. When the law changed to allow squirrel with an air rifle, Nanny Stringfellow is the only place I got the O.K. from the local game warden to use an air rifle. Other than that, they are restricted mostly to private property. I have seen various threads/posts/articles about duck hunting at Nannie Stringfellow across the web. Plenty of successful hunts according to what I have seen. It is a little over 3,000 acres and mostly wetlands and soggy bottom woodlands. I think it is right up your alley.

I agree that there are some areshole responses to what can be considered (by some) areshole questions. However, based on the first five posts in this thread, there appears to be a backstory. It's not a commentary on anything other than the back and forth between Jorge and Tyler makes me (and apparently Fooshman) curious on a history. To your first post: it did make me chuckle to see the first response and that number of posts.

No back story fellas we dont know each other.
And thats correct i wasnt asking for honey holes. I know on public guys out in time and hard work to get a honey hole. There are several wma's, but hunting ducks in this area and the types are something im not familiar with.
Only thing i have gotten is from a local to kayak across drum or redfish bay toward refuge and hit em there but i dont own a kayak.

If there is any public coastal areas off or around 257 from surfside any info would be appreciated. Im not to familiar with these wooded marshes and dont want to get into a pickle until i can link up with someone who can show me somethings.
