Not in my time, but the old timers used to.

We often took the tenderloins out of ours and grilled them the first night of opening day.

Killed a buck on a morning hunt and pulled a backstrap to chicken fry for breakfast that same morning.

Not anymore but used to every year.

It's either eat backstrap and tenderloin, or the pork skins and jerkey I picked up on the way!

I've always heard the term "camp meat" to describe a deer that wasn't tagged and consumed at camp.

Same here but not in a very long time.

Heart and liver are good eatin...

Ribs, heart, liver and tenders are our camp meat on every family hunting trip.
