Grew up hunting on a long-term deer lease, so long-term responsibility is all I know. Now that my father is gone, and I'm a father myself, I'd like to get into something with a group of guys that I know/trust. Prefer a lease that is over 500 acres, but nothing too big. high/low fence doesn't matter, but if high fence, the option to bring in new genetics to improve herd quality could be arranged, and we'd be willing to foot the bill for it. Mid/late 30's guys with kids under 10 just looking for a project and a place to grill some steaks over a fire and make deposits in our boys memory banks. It's a shame these days to have to include "we are responsible hunters", but I've heard the horror stories. We are indeed responsible and believe in leaving the land better than we found it. Long story short, we'd like year round access. We have our own blinds/feeders or could use yours. depending on acreage and price would depend on # of hunters. I don't like 10 guys hunting 1000 acres. 4-5 guns for 1200 acres or so is what we are looking for, and the odds of more than 2 hunters on the same weekend is a pipe dream with our busy lives. Anybody have anything for 2016 that matches this?
