I haven't seen birds like this on opening weekend in a few years. Its going to be a great year. Anyone else seeing large numbers of birds in North Texas?

I am getting excited for the opener, this will be my first duck hunting trip down here in Texas.
I have only been one other time with my brother up in the Puget Sound in Seattle, fortunately I wont have to deal with sub-zero temps

A little west and south of what most people consider "North Texas" but we are seeing very large numbers. Unless something changes between now and Saturday it should be amazing!

Large numbers of Pins, Wigeon, Gadwall and Teal.

I've burned a lot of gas scouting and haven't seen birds in what I would call big numbers yet.

Got out for the south opener last weekend and tagged a couple limits of reds on the coast. Headed to a res that shall remain unnamed this weekend to get some puddlers. Only hunted the coast last year, so I can't wait to get in on some puddler action!!

Not a lot where I've been looking, but that doesn't mean I won't give it a shot.

Last week after the rains things changed for me quite a bit. Where I was seeing ducks they were few and far between. I've got a general idea about where I'll be hunting Saturday, but not as confident as I was 2-3 weeks ago!

Went and looked at my best places in Central Texas and literally did not see one duck today. I'm hopeful the next few cold fronts will bring us some of these ducks you guys are seeing in North Texas. Lots of good water in some really good locations, so I am hopeful for later on in the season.
