I've been working on new models; I'm calling this one The Companion. Here it's only rough ground and ready for stamping my makers mark and heat treating.

Thats a nice knife; what material did you use for the scales? When I do break down and order a custom those are the scales I want. I have different tastes, when it comes to bolsters, but every thing else ticks the correct boxes..

for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

The scales are paper ivory micarta.

Thats what I suspected. I've heard that Jantz has an ivory look composite, that's very good, but I've yet to see a knife with it.

That turned out great! I really like the lighter color on the handle. What all kinds of micarta are there? I know there's denim, nylon...but I can't think of any other ones?
Anyway...Nice knife!

Micarta comes in various materials and colors, denim, burlap, paper, linen and just about anything you can laminate. I also like G-10, the colors are endless.
I used to make my own micarta, but for the amount of time I spend making it, it's more cost effective if I just buy it.

A great looking knife.

Same knife just different bolsters; it's 8 1/2 OAL the cutting edge is 4" .210 thick 1084. I'm also working on one with carbon fiber bolster and mesquite handle, both have a copper spacer.

I like that one a lot better. I'm thinking after the holidays I may just go ahead and order a knife. No offense, but I saw the perfect knife, in another posters gallery.

No offence taken brother; that's why we have so many different knife makers and styles and we all have our niche.
