I'm wanting to get a good cheek rest, need a little height and cushion. I have a Boyds Prairie Hunter and was wondering if a standard rifle pad/rest is the way to go? Brownells has a tac ops that I like. Opinions please.

I have one on every bolt action rifle I own. They come with extra strips of velcro, that attaches between stock and stock pack, to add height as needed.

X100! Best guidance ever. I have one on every bolt action after Fireman passed the recommendation

Those are decent. But also look at the Karsten cheek pads. He makes a good one.

the prairie hunter will not be easy to add the karsten to, this would have been your best bet, but.........

***stock pack, pool noodle, and duck tape will be your friend.......
