I like the "Camping Provisions Checklist" above...and the photo of the yellow lab.

My yellow lab left us on 7/02/2015. She was eleven years old.

What's at the top of the list?

so vultures violating your blind ranks higher than fishing and dove hunting?

So here is my list:

1) The Lord Jesus Christ
2) My Wife
3) My Children
4) My Job
5) Extended Family, including Church family

Deer Hunting as much as I love to do it comes in somewhere after these.

I know a guy who told me he divorced his wife over hunting and fishing. He told me that hunting and fishing will always be first in his life...frankly I was stunned. Seems hollow somehow to me but to each his own.

THANK YOU!

My list is exactly the same.

I'm a pretty lucky guy. My wife is just as excited about hunting as I am which is a complete turn around from the woman who didn't even want to touch a gun when we met 7 years ago.

Another thing. She doesn't wear a lot of jewelry and doesn't ask for it. For Christmas and birthdays she is happy with guns. Only she likes pretty guns which means expensive guns. Most of her guns are nicer than mine but that's okay because I get to shoot them whenever I want to.

Like a lot on here, mine knew what she was getting into - and 11 years later she still tolerates me. I still go as much as I can, I'm sure like other we eat all year round on the venison. So nothing makes me love her more than to hear her say.. HEY, the freezer's getting low - shouldn't you go kill something!! Well yes ma'am I do!!

Pretty sure there is a bible passage somewhere or other stating your first duty is to your got second is your spouse all else comes after.

If you love your wife as Christ loves The Church, sacrificially, then that same love covers your children and does so in the proper order of things. It's so unfortunate that our society places children first in all things...it's one of the big reasons that most children are so utterly spoiled. They are used to being the center of the universe.

I've been on 4 guided hunts this year and have another scheduled in January. There has been more than my share of other hunting and fishing on top of that. She is always happy that I get to go so I always gladly pay my dues when needed. I learned along time ago that it's a give and take. I do what I need to make sure she stays happy(including going to a lot of crap I don't want to) and she does the same. Sounds like some others have some good ones too.

Mine doesn't care when or how often but karma always hits. The furnace will break, ac will blow warm air, shower will leak into dining room, she'll lock herself out and spend an hour looking for the rock key. Fixed that with a keypad at least. grin

It's a work in progress from the beginning to the end.

Compromise keeps it working. When that stops the relationship ends.

The best problem in life you could ever have is someone loving you so much they miss you every time you leave.

I have not given up on getting her to one day like to go hunting with me. She likes to shoot guns sometimes and if that's where it ends that works for me.

If I had to choose between hunting and her I would choose her. The key to a successful marriage is compromising to make sure you are never asked to choose one or the other. up

dang..I hunt on the in-laws place. I just ask if we need to get back down and check on her parents! oh, and the kids need some time with their grandparents!! Well, heck, looks like we end up going almost every weekend, unless the weather is just going to be screwed up.
