A big #@!* you dude. You thought you were pretty funny coming within 10 feet of me as I was stopped, positioning your boat so the fan was pointed directly at the side of my boat and punching it, sending a big wave that almost flipped me over, sent water over the side of my boat and completely soaking with us the wind and water from your prop. Not sure what would make someone think that's okay to do.

Find out who it was. They are responsible for damages caused by their wake. Or just kick their [censored]!

A small camera like a go pro or the video capture on your phone can be your friend during moments like that.

Funny, I came on here to rant about this same thing. What is it about guys that drive airboats being complete d--ks??? We were set up on the coast this morning and a guide dropped his clients off at their blind, straight across the bay about 400 yards off. Right at shooting light (0710) the guy drives his boat over to us, lines the fan up to my line of decoys & guns it. My decoys went flying about 30 feet & I had to go out at prime time to reset my spread. All this while my buddy & I had a loaded shotgun on our laps. Sooner or later, that a-------e is gonna be picking bb's outta his hide

These happenings, not just airboats, are becoming more common. How people can put themselves so far out in front of others is beyond me. How they can convince themselves it is OK to do these things baffles me.

We had one that did that sort of thing a few times. We handled it in a manner that once was all it took to keep him from coming back.

This is one of the reasons why airboats are prohibited on many of the WMA's

Better yet, why would people do something like that? The good thing about air boats is they don't eat up the sea grass, the noise is my biggest complaint other than that I'm neutral on them but I would be totally against them if this is a habit with them

If you can next time you see him on dry land whip his [censored] and explain to him the errors of his judgement.I don't think anyone would blame you. I'm from an oilfield town in West Texas and that's how I would deal with the problem. If you can't whip him pour some sugar in the tank of that nice airboat of his. There's no reason for someone being that disrespectful. He needs a lesson even if your the only one that knows about it. I've had a similar problem over a brushpile while crappie fishing in East Texas. Nothing as bad as you described but I was in a Jon boat on public water and a man in a bass boat trimmed his motor up and put some water on me after a few words. I fired up and met him at the ramp and showed him the error of his ways. I just don't like folks being disrespectful. There's no reason for that type of behavior.

Here's the best thing about it. I'm pretty sure he did it cuz we set up next to one of his blinds. After all the talk on here about not using other guys blinds, I decided I'd do the "respectful" thing and not use "his" blind, just set up next to it. You know, so I wasn't taking advantage of the hard work he put into it. Never again. From now on if I want to hunt a blind, I'm gonna hunt it, end of story. Every point and bay has a blind on it & if you think you can own a piece of public property that I pay taxes for, you can kick rocks

Yep I found a blind smack in the entrance of the cove which is my absolute favorite spot on the lower laguna. Not even back into the 6ft mangroves, dead center of the opening of the cove, no back or sides, just one wall on a platform facing open water when all the birds come out of the cove behind the blind at first light. Stupid crap. I'm sure there will be a confrontation when I hunt there in my spot next to his blind.

You don't need a lighter. A well placed flare can allow you to be 20 minutes away before the real blaze starts. Not that I know anything about the proceedure.
