I'm sitting here watching a big 8 and ranged him at 455 yards. He is slowly making his way towards me and of course 2 coyotes pop out and send him and the does high tailing out of here. Hunting is frustrating.

Pop them every chance I get. Even if it's the first 5 minutes of opening morning, doesn't matter, pop them all!

When I lived in Indiana I had a place to turkey hunt where the birds roosted in the same grove of trees every night. For 5 hunts straight I'd have a coyote walk across the clear-cut they'd be coming down, busting the flock. Finally, the coyote busted the flock and walked into the timber where I was set up. At 55 yards I put an end to his messing up my hunts.
Next morning I got my bird.

I'll pop one every time I see 'em.

Kill a yote, save a fawn.

I'm never opposed to popping a coyote, but with them at 425 yards and a handful of does in the field behind me, it didn't seem logical. I'm nowhere near a good enough shot to take them at that range.

This is what got me into learning how to shoot far, killing coyotes.
Even when deer hunting I never let one walk. The suppressor is handy for that.

Kill em all and let the buzzards sort em out.

Interesting! but happens for often than not! next time get you a rabbit call or distress animal
call. 99% of the time you will get some reaction from some game animal! back in Sept, had a fawn
come up to our atv, during a deer count that pm, saw same as you, single yote about 200yds, he
came up, but the fawn beat him! both hit the deck when we stood up, and of course didnt have
a camera with me!

hunt safe....

had same happen to me BUT I called them in closer just by using my mouth and back of hand to make a squealing sound; worked - they came right in, then popped the huge lead yote when they stopped to listen to me making squeaking sound with just my lips.

sometimes ya gotta use what you have in hand (literately) to make a situation work - your best tool should be what you got between your ears, not in your backpack, and never (shouldn't anyway) get left behind!
