Truely, a person is better off with a $500 rifle that will hold 1" and a scope $500+, than a $1k rifle and a $200 scope.

Multiple times have guys planned to come out, PMed me, asked me scope questions, and arrived with one of the scopes I suggested, having never shot it. End of the day I always say, I LOVE BEING RIGHT! grin Since they were indeed happy with the scope and what they were able to do with it.

Well, as you know, the Sako cost more than that, so...Sets the bar for a scope pretty high grin Agree with you 100% though and have said the same thing for years, most rifles will out shoot the operator.
I tried a bit ago what used to work real good when my wife was young, mentioned a new Schmidt & Bender 3-20x50 Police Marksman II would be great to have, she got excited and said look them up which I did, isnt going to happen......

S & B PM II is super nice, but is not necessary. Brandon used a Vortex Viper yesterday and did fine.

Even a guy with a very small scope budget can get it done if he buys the right one.
