I really hate to do what I am about to do, because it will be very painful for you.

There is no requirement of a bill of sale for a FTF transaction in the state of Texas.

From out of state? I moved to Texas from Maryland, in Maryland by law the seller/buyer was required to have a bill of sale. In Texas, you don't need one, however, it is smart to have just in case.

BOS is not required in Texas but if you want to have a written document on the firearms disposition then your form would work for that purpose.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Thanks, it's just for my records. I know it's not required. So by acceptable, were you meaning to ask if anyone would object to it while purchasing a firearm? If so, then yes, I would not give you that info for a FTF sale. I will gladly show you my license and CHL, but I will not let you record the information or take a picture of it. I see no reason to do more than what is required by law.

I see no reason to do more than what is required by law. Me too. Are you from Texas, are you of age, is there any reason you cannot buy a gun in Texas? Yes, yes, no. OK. I'm not giving all that info, I ain't showing a CHL. I'll show a DL with info covered to prove my residence in Texas but I've never been asked.
Pass the gravy.

Most of my gun transactions over the last five of six years were arranged here on THF. I strongly prefer to deal with private sellers that I can look in the eye. In order to make the seller feel comfortable, they end up knowing who I am, where I live/work, etc. I have always received the same courtesy back from them. Made some new friends along the way...
My point is that if YOU feel comfortable with the other party, minimal information needs to be exchanged or recorded. If YOU ARE NOT really comfortable, you need to cover your butt with information. Or, more likely you shouldn't be dealing with him/her in the first place.

I dont give strangers my address, period.
I dont know if the seller will come to my home later to try to rob me. Likewise when I sell a gun I dont ask the buyer for his address. Same respect.
If when you meet, your gut feeeling tells you this guy is shady, dont sell it or buy it.
ID Theft is too rampant today. Why do I have this attitude? A friend of mine went thru hell because of one of these bill of sales. ID thief used his name and adress and forwarded his mail. He could not prove it was the gun seller but a week after filling it out he lost his mail. You dont realize what info of you comes in the mail till its too late
