Is anyone hunting this upcoming weekend? Better to hunt after it rains, or during the rain?

Leaving out this afternoon, as long as it is not lightening I will pretty well be out sunrise to sunset. Sometimes they change their movement up with a rain storm, never know when they will be out.

Yep. About to leave the office and head home and get loaded up, then I'm off the to ranch. A little rain never hurt(especially my food plot). Now to decide where all I want to hunt. I guess that's what driving a few hours is for.

The rain changed my deer pattern in comal county. Haven't seen a single deer out yet tday in the drizzle. This evening should be good after the rain slows a bit before the crap hits the fan. I had to cancel a trip to the hill country in anticipation of high rains coming.

Trying to decide if I should go myself. They are still calling for 6+ inches in the Hico area. Probably be the only one there. I've got a pop up I can hunt.

Ended up going to a friends place in east Texas and doing some rifle hog hunting. No pigs were harmed but many beers got killed.

It sure was wet in Lometa Texas, but the deer don't have any place to hide. Sunday morning the 25th offered a shot at a cull buck we've been looking for:

The full moon and warm tempatures has keeped the deer here in a late summer time pattern very nocturnal. Lots of new greens growing and the last of the acorns fell in the high winds and washed away with the 15" of rain the last 3 days here in comal county. My girls will be in the stand this evening for youth rifle season neck shots make for no track job in this muddy muddy environment. It's looking good for the next couple weeks if we could get some cooler weather a rut might actually finally take place this season we are behind schedule here.

I sat on the tree stand this passed Fri to Sat morning. My first time bow hunting saw two does walked out, not sure if it was my "bone collector"call or what but they walked out by 7:30 AM Saturday morning, and boom no buck. Guess rut wasnt happening this weekend at Telephone, TX. Anyone get any luck and any advice for this newbie

Haven't seen any sign of does coming in heat yet. But the bucks are starting to run around hard and checking scrapes and chasing some.
